Our Rainy-Day Wedding: You Can Stand Under my Umbrella

After our officiant announced us as husband and wife for the first time, our guitarist played us back down the aisle with this song.

Play while you read!

What better song could there have been to accompany us as we made our way, together, out into the rain? (Well, besides a certain Rihanna song.)

Luckily staff was right there to hand us an umbrella.  We ended up getting some of my favorite shots of the day at this point, and they were totally unplanned!

I kind of love that the umbrella doesn't match anything.  Looks less like an Anthropologie catalog and more like a real-life moment.
After frolicking in the rain as fresh newlyweds, we headed back to the mansion to tie up one pretty important loose end--signing the marriage license!
MOH Deniz didn't have too many personal requests for the wedding day, but she was really looking forward to signing the marriage license as one of our witnesses!  Although our officiant offered to sign, MOH Deniz was having none of that!  I'm glad she was able to sign it because now anytime I take the license out to look at it, I will see my best friend's signature, symbolizing her approval of my marriage to the Dude--pretty cool!  Especially considering that she was there with us on the night we met!

After the marriage license was signed, our officiant Spike took it with her to mail off for us--so nice that we didn't have to do it ourselves!  Then we squeezed in a few family portraits before the reception really got going.
The Dude's Side (though we unfortunately didn't get J Dawg's boyfriend in the picture)
The Mouse Crew

Now you can really see just how much I look like my mom!

Enough with the pictures!  We were ready to celebrate!
